A Legacy in a Box – Celebrating the Oilers’ Championship Win

To mark the Edmonton Oilers’ Stanley Cup Championship, Legend Rings partnered with us to create a fully bespoke video presentation box — designed not just as packaging, but as an emotional, lasting tribute to victory. The goal: deliver an unforgettable unboxing experience worthy of the moment and the team.

We began by upgrading our signature wooden video box to feel even more substantial. The depth was increased from 3.5″ to 4.5″, and both the lid and base were extended by half an inch — giving the piece added presence and structural integrity.

Crafted from MDF, the box was finished in the team’s official PMS blue and coated with a high-gloss finish for a bold, sleek effect. The Oilers logo was prominently displayed on the lid, while each box was individually numbered with a white vinyl “97” label — a subtle, powerful nod to the team’s iconic number.

Inside the Box – Built for Drama and Detail

The interior was all about creating impact from the moment the lid opened. An LED spotlight was embedded in the upper lid, programmed to illuminate automatically and shine directly onto the championship ring below — an elegant feature that amplified both emotion and presentation.

Just above, we installed a 7″ IPS video screen with autoplay functionality, allowing the video to play the second the lid was opened. Framed by embossed Oilers and Legend Rings logos, the screen sat within a custom-fit PMS orange suede panel, delivering contrast and colour continuity.

We kept the interface minimal with just two discreet buttons: volume and play/pause. An interior message — “Stanley Cup Champions” — said it all, leaving a lasting impression in bold simplicity.

Finishing Touches – Premium Materials, Precise Fit

The base of the box was engineered to hold and present the ring with precision and style. A layered construction was used to give the cradle a dimensional, luxury feel:

  • The side walls and base were wrapped in matching orange suede, echoing the screen’s surround
  • The middle layer was a painted PMS blue wood insert
  • The top panel was a custom-cut orange suede cradle, shaped to perfectly hold the ring in position

Together, these materials created a cohesive look that matched the Oilers’ team colours, while delivering a premium tactile experience from top to bottom.

This wasn’t just a box — it was a celebration you could hold in your hands. A lasting keepsake for players, staff, and fans alike, designed to honour a once-in-a-lifetime win with craftsmanship that felt just as meaningful.
